About The Program

Workforce Solutions for the Heart of Texas Child Care Services (CCS) offers child care assistance to help low-income families pay for child care so they can go to work or attend school or a vocational training program.

Eligibility is determined for 12 months, in single parent and two parent households each parent must be working at least 25 hours per week, or each person must be going to school at least 9 semester hours for the fall and spring and at least 6 hours per semester during the summer.  Each parent is assessed a parent share of cost based on their income within the 85% range of the State Median Income and the number of children that need care.

CCS has Client Services Specialist in the Rural Counties one a day week.

CCS also supports child care providers through quality improvement projects that include:

  • Taking Charge of Change Director’s Leadership Academy
  • Scholarship program for child care teachers
  • Training calendar with opportunities for all early care and education professionals.
